Honda Rubicon Fender Kit
Installation Instructions
READ FULLY BEFORE INSTALLATION!
This kit allows removal of the round steel rod support brackets that are located in the front fender well
which provide vertical support for the front portion of the Rubicon floorboards.
The objective of the kit is to allow removal of the obstruction to oversize tires that is caused by this
stock support bracket. This rod is replaced with a heavy-duty rectangular support bracket that fits
entirely under the floorboards and bolts to the frame and foot peg support.
1. Unbolt and remove the solid floorboard support rods from the inside rear corner of the front
fender wells. Note that the rear end of this rod is supported by the foot peg support bracket.
2. Replace the Honda bolts in the fender well to avoid losing them and keep mud out of the bolt
holes, in the event you later wish to reinstall the factory supports
3. Identify the bracket that goes under the left floorboard (would go under left floorboard if you
were sitting on the ATV), it is the one with four holes and a slot. (See photo) Orient it with the
cutout curve toward the Honda foot peg support so you can tell which factory bolts on the frame
are used to secure it.
4. Remove the corresponding front and middle frame bolts and loosen the bolt that mates to the
bracket slot.
5. Insert the bolts furnished through the stock foot peg bracket and the new fender bracket. The
shorter bolt goes in the hole closest to the center of the ATV. Leave the bolts loose until all are
installed.
6. Tighten foot peg bolts first. Be sure that cutout section of new bracket is flush with foot peg
curve and snug over the factory “lip”.
7. Tighten bolts partially in alternating sequence so as not to deform the new bracket shape by fully
tightening one side first.
8. Repeat process for the right side. It has a corner intentionally excluded (so you will not have to
disassemble the floorboard assembly) firmly tighten all bolts to 24 lb/ft.
Note: If you have difficulty lining up any bolt holes it may be helpful to have an assistant carefully
use a lever to apply pressure in the direction needed.
9. Check for misalignment or fitment problems.
